Dec. 18th, 2007 10:59 amYAY! We finally got to have a party for Eric!!! T showed up at about 12:30 and D and MS showed up around 1:30. ME arrived a bit later but couldn't stay long because he had to go to work. We ordered pizza from pizzapizza and 38 minutes later got a call from them asking if we were at the same place... apparently the delivery guy was 2 doors up from us and couldn't find us! WTF?!?? O~kay.... so we waited... and waited some more... and ME had to leave for work... and about 10 minutes later we get another call, this time from the delivery guy himself, asking for directions from the mall. (???) So we finally get our pizza ( and I recognized the pizza guy, he's been to my house before lol) and we don't have to pay because he's over 10 minutes late. It took almost an hour.... now, granted, the roads were not the best.. but had he not gotten so lost ( I really can't figure that one out) he would have still had a few minutes to spare.
So we got free pizza for Eric's birthday... 2 large pizza's gone in a matter of minutes! D's brother K showed up just before the pizza guy. He had called and asked D for a ride but she had refused because she was supposed to pay for the pizza and didn't want to risk the pizza guy showing up while she was gone. K walked (usually about a 15 minute walk) but the crazy nut decided to cut through the fields! So when he showed up at our house, he was covered in snow up to his waist! The snow in the fields are waist deep. He came in the house and pulled up his pants to get to his boots and a whole tone of snow fell out onto the floor. LOL! We made him go outside and use a broom to get as much snow off as possible.
The kids all had a snow day so we had a few kids playing on the now HUGE mountain at the bottom of our driveway. It is impossible to see past that thing when you are in your car... so we really have to be careful when backing out of the driveway. The kids love it though.
Last night at about 8:15 I could hear a lot of rumbling.. there was a city tractor outside my house taking snow and dumping in on one of my neighbours lawns. The city didn't take enough of our snow away... but the kids across the street have their own little mountain to play on now. The funny part was watching the big scoop fall off the tractor in the middle of the street, and then watching them spend 20 minutes trying to get it back onto the tractor!
What a day. Now the roads are cleared and the buses are running. I have to go downtown with my brother so he can get his health card renewed because he doesn't know where to go. I tried to explain it to him yesterday but I'm sure he would like the company. It's an hours bus ride to get there for a 5 minute appointment and then another hours bus ride home. Fun....
On the up side, Eric goes back to work tomorrow! YAY! only for half the day, then he has to go back to the doctors to get his stitches removed... I think.
Oh well, I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
