Just got back from Scaper Con in L.A.!  I had a terrifying flight and a long trip home from the airport.

It's after 4am in L.A. so Jet Lag is telling me I'm up WAY past my bedtime.  So I'm going to run to the corner store and get stuff for breakfast tomorrow and then go to bed.  I'll update tomorrow! or, at least, that's the plan  ;)

I'm Alive.

Hello f-list :)

I've been in the hospital for the past 16 days.  Hurt my back early Monday morning (the 21st) and had one of the worst days of my life.
I actually blacked out, hearing and sight, but stayed conciouss at least.  Found my toilet and sat down and breathed until I could see again.  Then I managed to get to my phone to call Kodama Sensei and she went to the BOE to get my spare key and then came to my place.  I crawled to my bed to wait for her and Takahama Sensei to get to me.  Took well over an hour.

Then when they got there, Kodama Sensei helped me put my socks on while Takahama Sensei called at Ambulance.  Once the 3 ambulance guys got there they got me onto my blanket and carried me to the stairs. Then they got me sitting (HOLY FRELL OUCH!) they had me climb onto one of their back's and he carried me piggy back down the stairs and out to the waiting ambulance.  Not Fun! My stairs aren't straight, they curve.

20 minute ride to the hospital and then x-rays and MRI and moving hurt so much. I haven't cried that much since my dad died almost 12 years ago.

Also, Japan has this thing about Supositories....not being able to move, and having a nurse shove pain meds up your butt is not fun either. lol although you do get used to it. unfortunately.

I really don't remember much about the first few days other than that I needed help to roll over, to sit up, to get from the bed to the wheel chair, to get from the wheelchair to the toilet, to shuffle 2 steps... little miss independant, I was not.  After 2 days or so I was able to get to the wheelchair and back to bed and to the toilet myself.  That's when I started physio.  Started slow, walking between two parallel bars and using them for support.  Then eventually moved on to using a walker in physio and after 2 days of that started using the walker to move around my floor. Still needed the wheelchair to go to physio or to the convenience store on the 1st floor.  I graduated to walker only on the Monday.  By the next Saturday I didn't need the walker any more either.

I did physio twice a day from Thursday until today and now I'm home.  I have the rest of this week off and Monday and Tuesday as well. I go back to school on the 16th.  Until then I will be going back to the hospital every morning for physio.  I'm hoping that all goes well and I have no more problems. This hasn't been the best year so far.  Been sick twice, spent 1 week healthy and then landed myself in the hospital.

What's the saying? Bad things come in threes?  Well I've had three now so the rest of the year should be awesome!

I'm so happy to have the internet back!! I took to colouring to pass the time! lol   I gave my colouring book and crayons to another lady that came in the day before I left. She really wasn't feeling well and missing her baby.  I hope they helped.

I was given so much junk food and fruit while in the hospital. I now have a bag of bananas, oranges and strawberries on my kitchen table, and a million different types of chocolate and cookies and sweets! lol

I'm really glad to be home.

Rie came over a little while ago and did dishes for me while I straightened up the kitchen table and put stuff away.  We also went through my fridge and threw out almost everything.  I'll be going shopping with her and Kiyoko later tonight.  One of my Buddhist leaders, who lives near by, has made me a bunch of food and will be stopping by soon to drop it off.  Curry rice,  and a few of my other favourite dishes.  I'm happy! Less for me to worry about.    My room has also been straightend up a bit since I came home. It was pretty torn apart after the medics and teachers were in there when I was down for the count.  My place is a mess, and I'm too sore to clean it myself, but it will get done little by little.  The kitchen is clean. Next up unpacking all my stuff from the hospital and doing laundry. But that is for tomorrow.  I'm not doing much else tonight. Just the shopping. lol

Ok, that's enough of that.

Have a good day or evening everyone!
Take care!
