So, no internet at my host family's place...no AC either! I didn't sleep much last night.  I am so tired right now that I can't even remember what I did Thursday and Friday.   lol

Wednesday I went to school and met some of the teahcers I'll be working with. I met the principal and the VP.  I also got a tour of the school. The elementary school has a swimming pool, a science lab, a cooking and sewing room! It's crazy!  Each grade has 5 classes!! It is the largest elementary school in Izumi!  I was shown where my desk is in the office and how to use the laminator and copier and left to my own devices.  In Japan, on the job training consists of you watching what your collegues are doing. there is no instruction.

I'll be going to school tomorrow morning to work on my self introduction and then in the afternoon there is a ceremony at the Culture Centre.

Thursday after work I went to Candi's house to use her internet to get pictures from facebook and from google to use in my self introduction.  She's got a really nice place...but I like mine.

Yesterday we took a bus to Aizu Wakamatsu and we went to Aizu University.  The school is amazing! IT cost about 5 million to build.  There are less than 1200 students total (undergrad and graduates).  Each student has a computer on campus for their use so they don't need laptops.  The university is for Computer Science. It's really really nice.  So we had class yesterday from 2pm-5pm. I was placed in the most advanced class with Sam and Chelsea :)  At 5pm our host families came to get us from school.  My family is an older couple )61 and 62 year old) whose oldest son lives next door to them with his wife and three kids.  The youngest is 3 months, and the oldest is 8.  The middle child is about 4 years old.

We talked about all kinds of things and watched some tv and we all ate together.  We had Sushi and Sashimi, squash salad, daikon salad, and probably a few other things, but I can't remember now.  I ate quite a bit.

At 9pm I got to watch 21 century Boys (a movie that came out in theatres in Japan the day after I went back to Canada in 2008).  That finished at 11:30 and I went upstairs to bed.  No AC...just a fan.  I slept on a futon on the tatami mats.  It was hot!  I'm hoping it's a bit cooler tonight.

Today I have classes again until 5pm and then I'll go back to my host family's place and we are having a BBQ tonight!  Natsuki (4year old) wants to show me his beetle. lol

Tomorrow I have no classes so my host family is going to teach me how to make soba noodles by hand. lol  I'm looking forward to that!

Out of time...100 yen for 10 mintutes. expensive!
Take care everyone!
